Adventure Pack
Milo bounded through the snow again today after greeting passing dogs. Thompson and Mamacita were also both excited to say hello, and they eagerly sniffed their greetings when the other dogs ran up to us. The trail was slightly less icy today due to the warm weather melting the top layer into a slightly slushy texture.
Play Pack
There was a Vizlsa at the park today who was particularly rambunctious and interested in the pack. He started off harrying Benny and spurring him into some dodge-and-wrestle moves. Ruffers distracted the Vizlsa with some play bows and then led him in some chasing and dodging, which she always loves to do. Later on, the Vizsla took a similar interest in Fritz, who was very quick to put the goofy pup in his place and run him off. The Vizsla enjoyed the talking to, though, and kept going back for more with Fritz. Sanaya saw this going on and eventually went over and leapt in front of the Vizlsa to back up her brother. This resulted in some more dodging around as the Vizlsa wasn't sure whether he was being scolded or played with. Then, Sputnik decided to see if he could help out and he began mounting the Vizsla every time he ran over to us, then turning his attention away when the Vizlsa headed off in the other direction. He didn't growl or pin him - just hopped up for a few moments to let the Vizsla know there was an order to things. I was pretty impressed by the pack's cooperative and non-violent attempt at keeping this rowdy young buck in check. Mamacita didn't participate in the Vizsla negotiations, but did enjoy a few runs with her packmates Sanaya and Ruffers.
