Adventure Pack

Rucksack again found a stick early on in the hike.  He left it aside a few times so he could sniff out some interesting spots alongside the trail.  The first couple times, I told Roger Roger to leave it for his brother, but then Rucksack wandered a bit farther and I let Roger Roger nab the prize.  Rucksack immediately ran over and tried to steal it back but I told him to let Roger Roger have a turn.  He begrudgingly relented until later on in the hike, when he and Milo each grabbed either end of the stick and then butted Roger Roger out in a tug-of-war, which Rucksack ended up winning.  Benny stayed clear of stick-handling negotiations and contented himself to follow his nose around the trail and in the brush.

Play Pack

Passers by along the creek were very interested in the pack today.  One woman asked about Mamacita's breed because she really liked her features, to which I responded she was found on the streets of Mexico and I really had no idea.  She then commented that Sputnik looked very friendly, as he was wagging his tail at her and her dog.  Just after that, a man asked about Stella's breed and I told him she was a mix of Beagle and Jack Russell Terrier.  He was especially interested in her because he used to have a pair of Jack Russells himself.  Another group commented on how beautiful Thompson was and they tried to decide whether he is a Husky or Malamute, before I informed them he is a big, old Husky.  A young boy on a bike stopped just to say, "Wow, those are cute dogs!"  The pack was the talk of the town today!
