Adventure Pack
We saw a snake crossing the trail just after our first stop at the stream this morning. Rucksack noticed it and stared intently as it slithered into the brush. It was a small snake and not a rattler, but still I'm glad I had the dogs on the leash at that moment so they didn't get into any trouble, especially with the way Rucksack was staring, poised. The rest of the hike was less eventful as we made our way around the Red Rocks trails. Milo was the most interested in hanging out in the stream, with Rucksack and Roger Roger tagging along. Chelsea preferred to stay on dry land today.
Play Pack
Chunk and Sputnik ran around together a bit and had some fun but then Sputnik started throwing his weight around and tackling Chunk, so I stepped in and had Sputnik take it easier on our tri-pod packmate. Stella was absorbed in sniffing out the perimeter of the park. She took her time and lagged behind the group as we walked around the park for a couple laps. Mamacita joined in with Sputnik and Chunk for a few brief dodge-and-runs, and mostly followed along behind me as I made my way through the park. Sputnik met a couple Bernese Mountain Dogs today. He got a little tense with the first one but then eased up and was ok. Unfortunately, he had a harder time keeping his cool with the second one he saw and jumped on him with growls, but I quickly grabbed his collar and then had him sit while the Berner walked around us. Sputnik spent the rest of the visit walking and greeting dogs on leash with me while Chunk made some more friends, Mamacita watched them play, and Stella got some love from humans.
