Adventure Pack

Milo and Roger Roger had a lot of fun splashing in the stream at the Gregory Canyon trailhead as we headed up Saddle Rock today.  Well, Roger Roger did most of the splashing while Milo waded through the water.  The crossing at one point was a bit treacherous and Oliver took his time figuring out the best stepping-stone path.  As we headed up Saddle Rock, a girl coming down slipped a bit just as we passed her.  It startled Roger Roger, who immediately jumped back and then barked and dropped into a play-bow, apparently believing that the girl's sudden movement was an attempt at a playful ambush.  Roger Roger's reaction won him a few laughs before we conitnued on our way.

Play Pack

Thompson and Stella decided to go exploring off the trail side-by-side today while I was taking care of some deposits left by Sputnik and Sadie.  It took some coaxing to get our elder pack members to rejoin us on the trail, and Stella only did so have having a good wiggle in the brush.  Thompson spent much of the walk wading through the stream alongside the trail while Sputnik and Sadie enjoyed playing chase through the tall grass, where it was easy for Sadie to hide from view when she stayed still.  At one point, Mamacita got extremely worked up and was pulling at the leash while Sadie ran through the tall grass beside us.  Something about the look in Mamacita's eyes gave me the impression that she hadn't realized it was her packmate in the grass and she believed it to be a rabbit or some other rodent worth chasing.  Then, when Sadie popped out from the grass onto the trail, Mamacita immediately settled down, seemingly confirming my suspicions.
