Adventure Pack

Benny kept up better on our way up the trail today.  Oliver had no problem and spent much of the hike at the head of the pack.  Sputnik was calm about passing dogs, even when Oliver started barking one time.  However, he started to growl during greeting so I swept him away and had him sit for a moment before we conitnued on.

Play Pack

Sadie stayed on the leash for a little while to practice greeting dogs without barking at them.  After proving to do a good job, I let her off and she stayed relatively calm throughout our visit.  At one point, a Pomeranian came over and was barking at every dog even more than Sadie ever has, and Sadie chimed in for a moment but settled down when I got her attention.  Meanwhile, Ruffers found a couple friends to play bowing-and-dodging games.  Isaac played lots of fetch while a German Shepherd followed at his heel for our entire time at the park.  Isaac was happy to see the kiddie pool at the south end of the park and took a nice long dip early on in our visit, which kept him damp for the duration.  Sputnik joined in for some fetch here and there as well.  He got playful with a couple other dogs but then had to take a break when he nipped another dog on the haunches while playing chase.  Milo was happy to follow as I walked all around the park, while Thompson camped out at the center of the park for most of the time.  Sadie enjoyed wiggling around on her back in the dirt from time to time.  She and Ruffers had fun chasing and wrestling near the end of our visit, while Sputnik and Isaac got in some final fetches, and Milo and Thompson kept a sweet old lady company by the gate.
