Adventure Pack
Roger Roger behaved himself for a long time while off leash with Milo today. He had a good time exploring the trail up ahead and checking in with Milo who brought up the rear. At one point, after the two of them together had fallen behind a bit, Roger Roger decided it was a good time to try to coerce Milo into playing by barking in his face while Milo just turned away to express his disinterest. Roger Roger wouldn't take the hint, so that was the end of his off-leash time today. Rucksack found a nice log to haul along the trail for the second half of our hike, but lost it to Roger Roger when he set it down to get a closer sniff at the base of a tree. Benny is still getting used to the more vigorous hikes after our long stint at the much-flatter CU South. He drank plenty of water from the CamelBak.
Play Pack
The afternoon group is still getting used to going for a walk rather than running around a park. Coco was pretty tuckered out once we were about two-thirds of the way through, and she kept stopping in place to catch her breath. I offered her water from the CamelBak but she was very wary of it and dodged away from the water. Sadie, on the other hand, has taken to drinking water that way very quickly. She lapped it up happily. She was again a bit stand-offish with passing dogs. Stella was good off the leash. She had a good time exploring off the sides of the trail. However, she started lagging behind after a while so I put her back on the leash in order to keep her attention on moving along with the pack. Mamacita and Charlie both hiked along smoothly. Charlie pulled a bit at first but she was pretty good by the end of the walk. Surprisingly, she didn't roll onto her back when other dogs came over to sniff hello.
