Adventure Pack
Benny and Oliver started off the hike by wandering around and following their noses into the field to either side of the trail. After some initial scouting, Oliver kept up with the pack better than he had Tuesday. Later on, Rucksack and Roger Roger took a turn off-leash and Roger Roger did a much better job of behaving himself. He trotted alongside his brother without constantly barking and biting at his ankles, which I'm sure Rucksack appreciated. Sputnik and Roger Roger had a couple brief bouts of wrestling. They have grown to be much easier to interrupt than used to be, which is helpful when they start to get tangled or I decide it's time to get moving along the trail again.
Play Pack
The dogs at the park were feeling pretty randy today. There were a chocolate Lab and a yellow Lab who kept trying to mount each other and before long Benny decided he wanted in on the negotiations as well. After Benny's attention finally turned elsewhere, Ruffers decided it was her turn to try getting on top. Meanwhile, another pair of dogs were hashing out some dominance play of their own and Milo felt the need to butt in by chest-butting the more successful mounter. Aside from all that, Milo had some fun chasing down tennis balls; Ruffers enjoyed rolling around in the grass and playing chase with small dogs B.B, Lucy, and Charlie. Thompson roamed the park today and made a few greetings with other dogs, but wasn't swept up by the fever that seemed to get everyone else going.
