Adventure Pack
The pack was a bit out of sync today and we had some trouble getting everyone moving in the same direction. That might be due to the fact that I walked Rucksack and Roger Roger at my right rather than my left as usual, since they've been trying to drag me to greet other dogs so I wanted to create more of a buffer, and Benny and Oliver moved to my left. Sputnik stayed at the right side, where he usually is, due to his occasional aggression towards passing dogs - however it's been some time now since he's had an unfriendly incident with the pack along the trails. Many hikers commented today on how impressive Oliver was to be hiking with the big dogs. Some felt bad for how many more steps he has to take, but I reminded them that he also has a lot less weight to carry - and he's usually leading the way by the return leg.
Play Pack
Our park visit was delayed for a while today due to some car troubles, but we made it to the park and Isaac got in his full dose of fetch for the day. Benny and Sadie both saw playmates whom we haven't come across in a while, and had a lot of fun. Benny saw Chester, a goofy yellow Labradoodle, and Chester actually managed to get a lot of play out of Benny with his goofy, pushy manner. They leapt and ran and pawed at each other, having a grand old time. Sadie saw the aptly-named Scruffy who she used to play with frequently, and the two of them immediately returned to their romping without skipping a beat. After a little while, Scruffy got upset about something and had some harsh words for Sadie but I stepped in and separated them. After a couple minutes, Sadie tested the waters and gave Scruffy some friendly, apologetic glances and then they went back to playing without further incident.
