Adventure Pack

The pack took their time to smell the proverbial roses along the trail today, stopping at many a bush to inhale the sweet scent of what was likely other dogs' urine markings.  Milo, Rucksack, and Roger Roger were particular drawn by their noses, while Benny and Mamacita were a bit less intent on sniffing out the goings-on.

Play Pack

Sputnik and Sadie started off their park visit by immediately breaking into play with one another.  It quickly became clear to Sadie that Sputnik is much bigger than her, and while he was certainly mindful of their discrepancy in size, he was still a bit rougher with her than she liked, so she sought shelter at my heels.  At one point, Sputnik ran by Sadie and leapt back when Sadie made a move toward him - and grazed Stella because he wasn't looking where he was going.  Stella reprimanded him with a couple stern barks and he immediately backed up in a show of deference to his small, mature packmate.  Later on, Sadie found a fluffy, black puppy who played at more her speed and she raced around in circles while her new friend chased her.  Stella wiggled around in the grass while Thompson and Benny made rounds among the humans.  Thompson was a bit more interested in other dogs today but didn't quite break into play with them - just some stand-offs from short distances that lasted until one party shrugged and walked away.  Sadie and Stella had a brief moment that I thought might turn into some play together - when Sadie poked her nose into Stella's ear and stood poised for Stella's reaction - but Stella just glanced at her, then glanced away, and that was that.
