Adventure Pack

Roger Roger contained himself for most of the hike but eventually he just couldn't help nibbling on Benny's ear.  Benny responded by leaning into his puppy packmate and opening his mouth wide to try to chew on his entire face, but Roger Roger managed to mostly avoid his gaping maw.  Sputnik growled at a dog who passed by us early on in the hike.  Instead of joining in and barking as he has done in the past, Oliver stepped back to stay out of it, which was a great improvement.  After that, I took a little while to get Sputnik and everyone else to sit and settle down while more people and dogs walked by before we moved on.  For the rest of the hike, Sputnik was much better.  And the regrouping also helped to keep Rucksack walking along with the group without pulling ahead.

Play Pack

Sadie was very exciteable today and expressed herself with a lot of barking.  Meanwhile, Ruffers found a friend in an old Beagle with a playful streak.  The two of them ran and dodged each other for a while before Sadie joined in and then all three of them had some fun together.  After that, we walked down to the other end of the park and Thompson followed along with the group instead of lagging behind like he usually does.  A couple high-energy Huskies showed up and Benny grumbled at one when he came barreling into the area where we were hanging out, but then started dropping into bows; he wasn't sure if he wanted to scold them for being out of control or join in and play.  After they moved on, Ruffers got into a big, long round of chase with new park regular Chester and then Sadie joined in with them as well.  Sadie did a great job of keeping up and even outrunning them for some spurts but as they continued she eventually tired out and was clearly lagging behind while Ruffers and Chester will still running all over the place.
