Adventure Pack
We had a few encounters today with hyper-excited dogs on the trails. The first one was off leash and ran right up into the middle of the pack and started jumping around. Oliver, Sputnik, and Roger Roger all barked and growled their disapproval while Rucksack and Benny just got a sniff. Later on, a couple other dogs pulled on their leashes right up to the pack; and then, on our last leg a passing dog started barking at us. After that first encounter I had taken some time to settle everyone down and then the pack approached each situation more calmly than the last, so we managed to make the most out of the circumstances by practicing good trail behavior with distractions.
Play Pack
Isaac played fetch at the park, as always. He picked up a follower named Winston, who stuck with him for our entire time at the park. When Isaac jumped up on a rock, Winston jumped up on it after him. When Isaac layed in the shade under a picnic table for a few minutes, Winston lied down in the same spot once Isaac got up. It was very cute. Ruffers ran along with Isaac and Winston some of the time. The rest of the time, she was busy making other friends - something she's very good at. She especially enjoyed teasing a particular yellow Lab for attention with play-bows and hip-checks. Thompson was especially lazy today and it took some coaxing to get him up to come for a walk around the park. Benny and Mama were also mellow, but they followed me around closely.
