Adventure Pack

Nobody bothered with any sticks today, not even Rucksack.  Roger Roger and Sputnik got worked up over a group of passing dogs but settled down pretty quickly.  Unlucky Oliver got snow-bombed by a plop of melting snow that slid off of a tree branch, and then a second time a minute later.  Benny stayed right behind me for the duration of the hike, and managed to stay untouched by the falling snow.

Play Pack

We had a new pack member today - Ruffers!  Ruffers is a very sweet 2-year-old Australian Shepherd.  She started off our park visit a bit tentative, but after walking the perimeter of the park with the rest of the pack in tow, she relaxed and had some fun.  While we were walking, Benny ran over to Ruffers and bowed and leapt around her to invite her to play.  Later on, Mamacita and Ruffers bowed, hopped around one another, and chased a bit; then, Ruffers lied down in front of Mamacita and wiggled around on her back while Mamacita looked on until Ruffers was done.  Ruffers found a few other playful dogs to run with and also played a few rounds of fetch.  She had a great time on her first pack outing!  Meanwhile, Thompson walked with the pack but kept things mellow as usual.  He stopped by some of the human regulars he's gotten to know to be lavished with love.
