Adventure Pack

Rucksack and Roger Roger got haircuts Friday and I barely recognized them today!  I posted a photo of the pack in the back of the packmobile after today's hike to show how different our Labradoodle packmates look now with their new 'dos.  Rucksack hauled a small log for the duration of our hike.  Milo lingered behind a lot on the trails and had a tough time jumping in the car at the end of the hike.  Benny made a b-line to a spot far off the trail today and didn't come back when I called until I walked about halfway to him.  Judging by his eagerness and excitement about the find, I expect he discovered some deer remains left by a mountain lion but once he returned to the pack I didn't take them any closer to investigate.  Thompson joined the pack for today's hike and I kept him on the leash for the duration due to his wandering spirit the last time he came out for the adventure pack.

Play Pack

Thompson had a lot of fun hopping around with a big Leonberger at the park today.  They had a long stand-off that stayed friendly throughout, despite both Thompson and his playmate's stiff postures.  Benny and Thompson also followed around a white dog with a gray patch on his eye, nosing and prodding him for attention.  Meanwhile, Sadie wandered around the park greeting other dogs, though she was a bit nervous and snippy when other dogs came straight up to her to say hello.  She tried running with packmate Stella but Stella only indulged her very briefly and with a grumble of protest.  Later on, Scruffy showed up and she and Sadie had a lot of fun running and wrestling with one another.
