Adventure Pack
Sadie was a handful on the trails today. She's not used to coming out on the hike and she was wary of every other dog we passed, which she expressed through repeated barking. Benny, Stella, Milo, and Mamacita all stayed calm, though, so it was easy to address Sadie by having her sit and then interrupting her with a nudge every time she started to bark again. Stella took advantage of the snow by rolling around in it on her back. Mamacita bit small chunks of packed snow off the ground and then shook her head back and forth vigorously like dogs usually do with rope toys (or dead rodents). Milo has been in the habit of stopping very frequently to mark spots of interest.
Play Pack
Charlie, Coco, and Sadie all hung out together when we first arrived at the park. Charlie would go up to greet other dogs first, followed quickly by Sadie. Then, if the other dog hung around, Coco would go over to say hello as well. Soon, though, Charlie took off to run with other dogs and Coco and Sadie stayed close to me. Thompson found a new spot where he seemed to like lying down - under the shelter at the north end of the park - so I brought the rest of the pack to hang out with him there. Benny took up a position atop a flat boulder and stood there sniffing at the air for a long while, so I snapped a photo of him on his perch.
