Leader of the Pack

Ever since the day that the deer were hanging outside Rucksack's home, he looks around the corner by the front door with anticipation every time I bring him out.  We haven't seen any more deer yet but when we do Rucksack seems ready to give them a scare and send them hopping off again!  During today's hike Mogul and Rucksack took a short break to splash and lie around in the creek we crossed while heading back from Enchanted Mesa.  Mogul was especially rejuvinated after the dip and was suddenly thrilled to find a stick that he just had to run around with.  I just posted a picture of him mid-sprint, holding his head up proudly with the stick between his teeth.

At the park, Rucksack played soccer/fetch with the blue rubber ball alongside Buzz again.  They try to block the ball when I kick it, and if I get it past them then one of them fetches it back to me to have another go.  Coco played with two puppies: a fluffy black one, and a short-haired golden-colored one named Zeus.  Coco loves to wreslte around!  One of her puppy playmates, Zeus, wanted desperately to be Mogul's friend and kept going over to him and licking at his mouth while sitting in front of him with his ears back in a submissive display.  Mogul showed his teeth at the pup and kept mouthing over his face as if to say "enough", but I think he liked the attention.  He was very gentle and seemed to enjoy the puppy making him feel like top dog.
