Adventure Pack
We took a nice, swift-paced walk along the Bear Creek Trail today and Benny, Milo, Sputnik, Rucksack, and Roger Roger were all exceptionally calm and well-behaved. Benny and Rucksack occasionally pulled ahead slightly, but never tried to drag us and responded well to a light tug by falling back with the rest of the group. Sputnik and Benny found a stick - really more of a twig - that they both wanted and they played a tame form of keep-away as they trotted alongside each other, which mostly just involved a lot of swinging around of their heads. When we periodically stopped and I asked everyone to sit, I was amazed at how quickly the whole pack responded and sat in a perfect row.
Play Pack
Stella and Sadie had a great time playing with one another at the park today. At first, Sadie was a bit intimidated by Stella's prodding and barking and she ran to my heels for protection. I had Sadie sit and wait while I addressed Stella and then brought her over to Sadie with a calmer demeanor; before long they were romping together happily. Thompson and Benny both found a playmate in a black Great Dane named Porter. Porter played rabbit in a chase with a couple other dogs and Thompson and Benny joined in by trying to cut Porter off whenever he came nearby and then following for a moment before taking up ambush position again. Meanwhile, Luca wandered around with me and checked out other dogs but didn't get involved in much play.
