Adventure Pack

The pack behaved themselves very well from the beginning of today's hike.  Once we were a little ways into the trail, Sputnik and Roger Roger got a chance to run and play together.  This primarily involved Sputnik sprinting in big circles around the rest of the pack with Roger Roger chasing at his heels and occasionally letting out high-pitched barks of frustration over his inability to catch his packmate.  Rucksack got pretty worked up watching his little brother chasing his packmate and let out some sympathetic high-pitched barks of his own.  Eventually, Sputnik stopped running, rolled over onto his back, and let Roger Roger jump around on him for a while. Benny occupied himself on the hike by munching on patches of snow that are still scattered around from last week.  Oliver stuck to the trail for the hike.  He and Benny both eagerly greeted one pair of pups who we passed along the way, and the rest of the pack was also happy to say hello when the new acquaintances came over to us.

Play Pack

Sadie has been growing more and more comfortable in the presence of the pack.  When she first started coming out with us, she would bark at each other dog as they hopped out of the car as we unloaded at the park; now, she patiently waits her turn without the nervous outbursts.  In the park, she enjoyed running with Isaac, who played a lot of fetch as usual.  Coco also played fetch for a while.  Isaac goes after the long throws while Coco goes for the short, high bounce-passes.  Thompson and Benny trotted the park with me and athe rest of the pack and lingered by humans who offered them some love.  Thompson also checked out the fort under the tree stump again.  I had lost sight of him and was looking around when his head popped back out from the hole.
