Mogul had his first day back with the Pack in 2 weeks!  He enjoyed himself on the hike, following his usual trend of lagging behind to smell the roses during the first half, and bounding up ahead playfully during the return trip; as we headed back from the Enchanted Mesa, Coco and Mogul chased each other all through the brush.  A short while before, when we were up on the Enchanted Mesa, we could hear a dog barking in a high-pitched, anxious manner.  Coco and Mogul froze in their tracks and looked in the direction from which the barks were coming.  A moment later, a whole family of deer came leaping across the trail only about 10 yards ahead.  Coco and Mogul both stayed put, although it took a little strategic blocking to keep Coco's attention as she was definitely curious about the commotion.

When I arrived to pick up Rucksack for the Play Pack, I had another deer encounter!  There were two deer, male and female, hanging out in the backyard - the male was standing right at the brick wall by the door.  He didn't move off until I was about 10 feet away; and even then he was very casual about it, glancing back to see if I expected him to move any further.  When I stepped back outside with Rucksack it was a different story, as one bark from him sent the deer hopping off and away.

At the park, Rucksack and Mogul had lots of fun playing 'soccer' alongside Buzz with a basketball.  Anabelle was there today for Coco to roll around with.  When Anabelle left, Coco turned to Keeyush (a big Malamute/German Shepherd mix) and Buzz.  All of her bigger playmates treat her well, and I got an adorable shot of her and Buzz today.
