Adventure Pack
Rucksack found a stick to haul for almost the entire length of today's hike. Roger Roger and Benny both nibbled on the ends now and then and Rucksack eventually gave it up to his little brother along the last stretch of trail. Milo lingered at numerous spots along the way to give a good sniff and then leave his mark. Osito was anxious to move along on the trail and kept trying to lead the way, but I called him back to the group because when one or more of the dogs starts leading the way it tends to make the whole pack more rowdy and stubborn. Coco has the most of a penchant for trying to forge ahead and lead the way on the trails and she was tending to pull on the leash today, so she stayed on. It was encouraging, however, when we took breaks along the way and she calmly walked up to me upon hearing her name instead of staring off and pretending she didn't hear.
Play Pack
Mamacita was in a playful mood and had no trouble finding playmates. She got along especially well with one pup who wrestled around with her while she dug up dirt and then ran with her while she busted out some of her best spin moves. After that friend left, Sadie did her best to fill in and ran circles around Mama while Mama lied in the sand, kicked it around, and occasionally swung her head toward Sadie to keep her going. Thompson slipped under the tree stump and a couple minutes later a stream of kicked-up dirt and leaves came flying out of the entrance as he made himself more at home inside. Benny wandered around, sniffing and being sniffed by various pups and exuding a mellow vibe.
