Adventure Pack

Sputnik and Roger Roger can't get enough of each other.  They started off the hike wrestling around and it took some effort to get them to take a break and walk along with the rest of us.  Later in the hike, Benny and Rucksack had some fun together when Benny found a branch with some leaves still on it and he picked it up and ran from Rucksack to start a game of keep-away.  Rucksack caught up to Benny in a matter of moments, however, and then Benny gave the stick up immediately and Rucksack decided it wasn't up to his standards so he left it behind.  Shortly thereafter, Rucksack found a more suitable stick and carried it for a little while before I gave Sputnik and Roger Roger a turn off leash and Sputnik led Roger Roger in a much more exciting game of keep-away.  After a long while of running in big circles with Roger Roger chasing behind, Sputnik gave up the stick and then Roger Roger picked it up and led Sputnik around.  Oliver unfortunately wasn't big enough to get involved with the keep-away games, since the sticks weighed about as much as him, so he contented himself to follow behind me and sniff at the edge of the trail.

Play Pack

There was a fiesty little dog in the neighboring small dog park today and Thompson joined a golden-coated dog in racing back and forth along the fence to follow the barking pup on the other side.  Benny was again in a more playful mood and had some fun bowing and leaping with Coco and several other dogs who caught his interest.  It's great to see him letting loose more at the park!  Coco started off the park visit in a somewhat anti-social mood and snapped at a couple dogs who rubbed her the wrong way but after a time out she relaxed quite a bit and then had some friendly and playful encounters along with Benny.
