During the walk today, there was a family of deer on the other side of a small creek.  We had stopped for Mogul to do his business when I noticed them.  Chelsea and Mogul caught their scent and were sniffing into the wind for a minute before we moved on.  It looked like a buck, a doe, and a fawn.

On the whole, the pack was pretty mellow at the park today.  Chelsea wrestled with Buzz for a while and covered him pretty well with slobber.  A little later, both Mogul and Chelsea had fun stealing the ball from another border collie who frequents the park: Tank.  Tank is VERY into tennis balls.  He'll place one on the ground, take a few steps back, and stare intently at it until someone approaches - at which point he bolts to it and grabs it up before anyone else can.  Oddly enough, though, he often lets other dogs take the balls without darting in to steal them back.

Chelsea went over, grabbed his ball (which he had placed on the ground and was staring at), shook it around triumphantly, and then dropped it.  A moment later, Mogul did the same.  Then Tank picked it up again, walked a few steps away, dropped it and waited.  A minute later Chelsea picked it up again, shook it around, and dropped it.  Then Mogul came barrelling over and pounced on it and batted it around almost like a cat with a ball of yarn.  All the while Tank was staring intently at them but letting them have their fun with his ball.   After playing with it for a minute, Mogul left the ball for Tank - who promptly snatched it up the moment I took a step toward it!
