The Adventure Pack

We had another great day of practice walking on-leash on the trails today, and another encounter with a friendly dog who calmly walked over and right into the middle of the pack.  Coco, Rucksack, Benny, and Wesley all greeted the new acquaintance very nicely.  The main issue I'm working on when keeping the pack on leash during our hikes is staying calm and respectful when greeting others - dogs especially.  The real test is if they'll let another dog approach us without pulling at the leash to try to race over to them before they reach us, and with the dog who came over today the pack didn't pull at all until he was about 5 feet away and then they stayed fairly calm with no lunging.

The Play Pack

Milo and Benny both made friends with a couple other big dogs who ran and wrestled around with them a bit.  Mia was all over the place, finding twigs and tennis balls and dirt clods to chew on and wrestling around with other puppies.  She also came over to Milo and got him to run with her a bit.  Oscar hung out with another small dog with white, curly fur and the two of them played well together - dropping into play bows to invite each other to play and dodging away, instead of just dive-bombing like Oscar sometimes does with bigger dogs.
