The Adventure Pack
The pack had another day of practice on leash for the length of the hike today. We worked on getting everyone to stay with me and not try to pull me over when another dog wants to come over and say hello. Rucksack and Coco are usually the most enthusiastic about greeting other dogs. Wesley is generally pretty relaxed about greeting other dogs, though he can get a bit worked up by his packmates. Benny can usually take it or leave it, though sometimes he stops in place and stares with anticipation - which is much easier to handle than his packmates' more eager tendencies.
The Play Pack
Mia kept going to the grass to chew on muddy grass clumps today. I brought her away several times but she kept going back. Finally, I sat with her while she had a juicy clump right in front of her and I kept interrupting her each time she went for it. At first, she kept reaching down for it immediately, less than a second after I stopped her. But after a couple minutes of that she actually left it alone and then joined me and her other packmates as we jogged around the perimeter. Oscar and Mia ran and tackled each other. Benny and Milo were both less active than their smaller packmates and mostly just followed me around and snuck kisses when I was crouched down at their level and not looking.
