The Adventure Pack

Sputnik had a great time on his first pack outing in the snow!  He's so interested in his packmates that I felt comfortable letting him off the leash for a bit to run around with them, because I knew he'd stay close and just go wherever they went.  Benny and Sputnik had a good run together and both ate mouthsful of snow.  Rucksack also chomped on his fair share of powder.  We came across two of Benny's Ridgeback friends again and he and Rucksack had a blast sprinting through the snow together with them.

The Play Pack

Maebe was totally focused on fetching tennis balls, as always - although I substituted tennis balls with snowballs a few times.  She was less confused/curious about the snowballs than most dogs I've seen.  Usually, they look around in the blanket of snow, perplexed about what happened to the ball that was thrown to them and then seemed to disappear.  Maebe just looked back up to me, wondering, "Where's the next one?"  Coco was a bit more competitive about chasing down tennis balls today and didn't give up halfway there like she usually does when Maebe is chasing the ball, too.  Unfortunately for her, she usually missed the ball on her first dive for it, and then Maebe scooped it up behind her.  Benny and Oscar chased and wrestled around with each other a lot today.  There were also a few other dogs who joined them.  The park was almost empty, but the handful of other dogs who showed up were all very playful.
