The Adventure Pack
Since we've been practicing walking as a more tight-knit group on leash, the pack has been doing a lot more sniffing along the trail. I think that's because whenever I need to stop and address someone who's straying or lagging behind, the other pack members look for something to do. Speaking of lagging behind, Benny was much better about keeping up today than he has been in the recent past. Rucksack has been very good about walking by my side and has been responding much more readily when I verbally address him on the occassions when he does start to pull ahead. Coco and Toskey were a pair of explorers today and kept veering off to the side of the trail together in pursuit of interesting scents.
The Play Pack
Benny and Oscar didn't only wrestle today - they ran together, too! The cooler weather seems to be leaving Benny a lot more energy to spare at the park lately, and it's great to see him so playful again. In addition to running and wrestling around with Benny, Oscar also wrestled with Chelsea, a big Boxer/American Bulldog mix who joined us for the afternoon. There were a couple times when Oscar, in his unbounded enthusiasm, got the attention of Benny, Chelsea, and another big dog also named Oscar all at once. I interrupted before things got too wild because everyone was getting worked up and the big dogs were ganging up on the little firecracker.
