The Adventure Pack
Rucksack took a break from stick-carrying again today. Coco, however, found a good chunk of wood to gnaw on while she waited by the trail for her packmates to relieve themselves. Chewing on the stick soon gave way to rolling around on her back in the grass, seemingly just trying to get the attention of the others. Toskey came over and sniffed around Coco while she flailed about, and then she poked closer to her with her nose, causing Coco to spin back over onto her belly and eye Toskey. Toskey was satisfied, though, and didn't try to play with Coco any more than that. Benny saw a Ridgeback friend of his just as we were finishing up our hike, and he was very excited (i.e. wiggily) to say hello! Coco was a bit freaked out by Benny being so interested in another dog and growled for a moment, but I had her sit and wait while Benny caught up with his friend. Rucksack and Toskey were both pretty calm and let Benny and his friend greet without interfering.
The Play Pack
Benny and Oscar both wandered around the park a lot today. There weren't any big chases for Oscar to join in on, so he mostly sniffed around or wreslted with Benny. Oscar also played a bit of fetch, though not very attentively. I tried to get Benny interested in chasing the tennis ball but he only made a cursory effort to catch it once when it bounced right next to him, and missed it.
