The Adventure Pack

Oso joined the Adventure Pack for the first time today.  He's a big boy, but he behaved himself very well so it wasn't too tough to manage him along with his packmates.  There were several times when everyone practiced sitting and waiting at the side of the trail while another dog or a group of hikers passed by us.  Oso wanted nothing to do with the stream of water from the Camelbak spout.  Coco has quickly gotten used to it again, and even prefers a running stream from the spigot at the dog park over drinking out of the bowl.  Benny is the same way; unless he's very thirsty, he just stands at the spigot, looking at it, waiting for me to turn it on even though the bowl is full of water.  Rucksack is always eager to chomp at the stream from the Camelbak.  I didn't notice a limp in him at all this entire week.  I'm glad it doesn't seem to be bothering him so much now.

The Play Pack

Benny and Oscar played with each other even more than usual at the park today.  The post-rain coolness seemed to unleash Benny's energy, and the two of them went on big runs together in addition to their usual wrestling/chewing play.  Sage, of course, played fetch almost non-stop.  Oso jumped around with a dog named Sammy, whom Coco and Benny know pretty well.  Before long, their jumping turned into attempts to mount each other and when Sammy got the best of him a couple times, Oso gave a stern growl and Sammy backed off.  Maybe next time they'll be able to keep things platonic.
