The Adventure Pack

We made slow progress along the path today as Benny and Rucksack thoroughly sniffed out the surroudings.  We came across a young man in a wheelchair who was out with his mom and the pups were very friendly.  They were standing just off the path and as we neared them, Rucksack walked over and leaned right against the woman's leg.  Benny put his head in the lap of the young man and then, on request, I picked Oliver up so he could pet him in his lap.  The pups were all very happy to be making their day.

The Play Pack

Coco was perturbed by the presence of a guy on crutches at the park today.  She followed him  around, barking, for several minutes until he sat down.  I tried to get her attention but she just kept her distance and ignored me.  Thankfully, the guy was very friendly and understanding.  After he sat down, he and Coco made friends and he scratched her neck in such a way that he got her back leg kicking.  With his permission, I held his crutches by Coco and had her sit and wait to try to help desensitize her.  When he got up to leave, she didn't bark at him at all.  Benny was a bit confused by the crutches at first, too, but then soon walked up and started licking them.  Oscar chased Coco around, barking at her, when she had been barking at the guy - I think he was trying to help me round her up but it mostly just added to the noisiness of the encounter.
