The Adventure Pack

A new pack member joined us for today's Adventure Pack: Morgan!  Morgan is a sweet Australian Shepherd and he got along well with Coco and Rucksack on today's outing.  He really likes to keep moving and whenever we stopped - for me to bag some poop or just to get everyone's attention - he kept looking up the trail ahead and whimpering as if to say, "What's the hold up? I just want to go!"  His eagerness to continue was apparent while walking, as well.  He tended to try to pull ahead from the pack for most of the first half of our hike.  Coco and Rucksack joined him in that.  By the latter half of the hike, though, everyone fell pretty well into a comfortable formation with Morgan at my right, Coco at my left, and Rucksack just behind me.  We tried out drinking from the Camelbak but Morgan wasn't sure what to make of the water spout.  Coco was much less wary of it than she has been over the past week, and lapped up a bit.  Rucksack had no reservations about chomping at the stream of water.

The Play Pack

When we first entered the park, Oso immediately caught the attention of several dogs there and he had an instant entourage.  That lasted for a few minutes until they all got interested in other things and split off to chase each other or hop in the pond or grab up tennis balls.  One of the pups continued to hang out with Oso for most of our visit.  He was playful and kept trying to get Oso to chase him.  Oso payed him some attention but didn't go for a run.  Meanwhile, Oscar played fetch alongside a black Lab pup.  Although, I guess I can't really call it 'fetch' because he wasn't in the habit of bringing the ball back.  After chasing it down and snatching it up, he'd get distracted by the Lab following him around and then he'd drop the ball and leave it.
