The Adventure Pack
Coco's back! Sage was the first to greet her today. They met a couple times before Coco left for the summer. They sniffed each other interestedly as we headed over to pick up Rucksack. The recognition and excitement were much greater when he hopped into the car. They've been going out together since they were both just pups and they were very happy to see each other and Coco was panting rapidly from all of the excitement. Wesley was the last to join us and by then Coco had settled down a bit and was already falling back into old rhythms, with her head poked out over my shoulder and her eyes half-shut. After the initial sniffing to dispel any doubts about the return of his packmate, Wesley assumed his usual position sitting behind my left shoulder, and we headed to Eben G. Fine Park. Everyone had a good soak in the Creek during today's walk. Coco and Sage both just lied right down in the water, while Wesley stood and Rucksack kept walking circles around me, in the creek, then back to shore, then back in, and so on.
The Play Pack
It was Ridgeback day at the park today! In addition to Benny, there was a Lab/Ridgeback mix and another Ridgeback named Lana. Benny instantly took a liking to the Lab/Ridgeback mix and the two of them danced around together. Oscar joined in and ran around with him, too. Meanwhile, Lana decided to follow Sage around everywhere she went and chased after her whenever Sage ran for the tennis ball - but Lana didn't care about the ball, she just wanted to follow Sage. Eventually, Oso came over and he and Lana wrestled around for a long while. Lana went out into the pond and Oso followed her a few steps in. I thought he might be tempted to go further to get to her, but he just stood in the shallows and waited for her to come back to shore.
