The Adventure Pack

Oberon joined Wesley and Rucksack for today's hike.  He pulled a lot on the leash, but was very responsive to sitting when I wanted him to.  Much like Benny when he was just a pup, Oberon was very interested in harassing Wesley with kisses.  Wesley was less gruff with Oberon than he used to be with Benny, and tolerated the puppy's attention very well.  The pack took a dip in the stream as we've been making a habit of lately.  While wading around, something downstream caught Rucksack's attention and he stared intently for several minutes.  I looked in the same direction as him but couldn't figure out what had him so mesmerized.

The Play Pack

Sometimes Oscar goes a bit bananas when he's playing.  He had a couple wild outbursts today - one with Benny and another with a big dog who we jest met.  He suddenly gets a huge burst of energy and starts sprinting in circles and launching himself in the air at his intended playmate.  Benny tolerates Oscar's antics very calmly but other dogs can get very riled up and before long he'll have multiple dogs chasing him around, trying to see what the big deal is.  When he's bouncing off the wall like that, I've taken to putting him back on the leash and walking him around a bit.  Meanwhile, Sage played fetch for the entire visit.  As we walk around the perimeter of the park, she brings the ball back and drops it by me.  Usually she leaves it a few steps ahead of me so I can reach down and grab it in stride but sometimes she leaves it just behind me and, out of the corner of my eye, I notice her staring at me and wondering why I'm walking the other way.  Maverick walked with the pack the first time we went around the park.  The second time, he hung out under a tree by himself for a while and then came around from the other direction to meet us.
