The Adventure Pack

Benny seemed like he was going to hang behind and pull back for the hike again today until the clouds came in and it got windy.  At that point, he started bounding around in circles with energy he didn't know how else to use.  When it started sprinkling, he got even more animated and Oliver had to keep dodging him as he ran by with his legs flailing.  Later on, Sage showed me that pinecones make good substitutes for tennis balls when she picked one up, dropped it at my feet, and stared at me expectantly.  Rucksack snatched it away and Sage chased after him while he teased her with it.  They make really good playmates and their chasing continued when we got to the part of the Red Rocks trail that runs alongside a shallow stream.  They both got soaked, splashing up and down the stream alongside the rest of us.

The Play Pack

Maverick spent a while chasing around a tennis ball today.  He even chased after it a pretty long way when there were no other dogs around who were competing with him.  Chelsea and Oscar both played some fetch today, but only brought the ball back to me when I was hanging out in the shade.  Benny and Oscar had a playful wrestle, with Oscar nibbling at Benny's elbows and cheeks while Benny mouthed Oscar's head.  Chelsea was interested and started to nose her way into the action, too, but I made her and Benny take turns because Oscar is so much smaller and he tends to get really wound up.
