The Adventure Pack

Rucksack opted for a pine cone rather than a stick today.  He did the same yesterday.  It's much lighter, but not necessarily easier to carry; it must be hard not to crush it in his mouth, especially during a challenging uphill hike.  Neither Benny nor Coco followed Rucksack's example; they just sniffed around as we went.

The Play Pack

The tennis ball did the trick again when I picked up Sage today.  At the park, it was all she wanted to do.  I had to stop for a bit, though, because one time when I was trying to get her to give me a little space to throw (she was right in front of me) she nipped at my knee impatiently.  The ball immediately went into my pocket and stayed there for about 15 minutes as I walked around the perimeter with the pack.  At first, Sage stared at me and ran in circles around me, expecting me to throw it for her.  After a few minutes, she started paying more attention to her packmates Benny and Oscar, and walked alongside them.  Benny and Oscar chased each other around a lot!  I haven't seen Benny run that much at the park in a while!  Meanwhile, Maverick was hanging out in the distance, sniffing along the fence.  He was in a less social mood today than yesterday.  As I walked around with Sage, Benny, and Oscar, Sage eventually found another ball and tried to get me to throw it, but I just pocketed that one, too.  After a little longer, I had her sit and wait for a minute before taking one of the balls out and throwing it for her.  Oscar got to chase the other ball Sage had found.
