The Adventure Pack

I brought a tennis ball with me to the door when I picked up Sage today and she immediately sat in place when I took it out.  Her attitude changed from, "...What are you doing here? You keep your distance..." to "You are the ball master.  I will follow you wherever you lead," in a fraction of a second!  On the trails, Benny and Oliver followed behind me, Rucksack, and Sage single file for almost the entire hike.  Benny discovered a noteworthy tree on our way up the Saddle Rock trail and Rucksack and Sage gave it a thorough sniff after him.  The spot of interest was too high up for Oliver to reach, but he had other smells to occupy him.  To human eyes it looked like any other tree, but the pack's noses told a different story.

The Play Pack

Maverick bolted to the door when I picked him up today instead of following his usual m.o. of blankly staring at me while reclined upside-down in his chair.  His enthusiasm carried over to the park and he was very sociable today (relatively speaking).  He went straight over to a group of people he recognized from the Valmont Dog Park and hung out right in the middle of things.  Oscar fetched a few balls but soon decided he didn't feel like bringing them back.  Coco kept fetching throughout our visit, at least whenever she could bring herself to give up the ball for me to throw.  Benny wandered about the park, usually following me at a distance.  I've noticed lately that Maverick likes to walk under Benny.  Benny is just tall enough and Maverick just short enough that he can slip under from one side to the other without having to dip.
