The Adventure Pack
We took a slow pace on the trails today and everyone stayed on leash to work on walking together and following commands. Every so often, I would stop and back down the trail and then call Benny, Rucksack, and Coco to me. The majority of the time, they promptly turned around and followed me back; however, there were a few times when either Rucksack or Coco would be interested in something up ahead and tried to ignore me. Repeated gentle tugs eventually drew their attention. Everyone sat pretty promptly upon request, although Rucksack and Benny kept standing right back up after a moment. Repeatedly stalling them with a quick "shh!" and pointing to their butts eventually got the message across.
The Play Pack
Oscar tried to tackle Benny repeatedly at the park, to no avail; after all, Benny is about 10 times his size. A playful, young German Shepherd mix followed Oso around and leapt about him every so often. Later, another Burnese Mountain Dog arrived and showed me that Oso's tendency to become extremely whiny when he's excited runs in his blood. For the last 10 minutes or so of our visit, Oso and Oscar both chilled out under a picnic table, only getting up to briefly greet new dogs who arrived at the nearby gate.
