The Adventure Pack
Rucksack found a nice, hefty log about 3 1/2' long to carry up and all the way back down the trail today. Oliver had to keep his eye on Rucksack because Rucksack kept dropping the log right next to his little packmate. While Rucksack has always been the most stick-crazy of the dogs I take out, all of them have at least occasionally carried a stick along or at least tried to steal it from a packmate - all except Oliver. Oliver has never shown an interest in sticks. I guess he has to work hard enough on his little legs just to get himself up the mountain, let alone an extra burden.
The Play Pack
Coco and Benny played a lot of tug-of-war over a stick Coco found at the park. Oscar chased around a white and tan Staffordshire Terrier who was very playful and stopped to give kisses to Coco and Benny every once in a while. Maverick stuck close by again today and was slightly less grumpy about dogs walking up to him for a sniff. He barely grumbled at all and even started to hop around a little bit with one dog, but his potential playmate was put off when Maverick barked (although I think Maverick was just excited and not trying to be scary).
