The Adventure Pack

The pack did a lot of sniffing again today.  The snow blankets the smells and mutes them, so I think the pups are excited by the return of their world of odors as the snow melts.  Rucksack, Benny, and Coco would all convene at one spot to give it a thorough check while Oliver waited aside until they were done.  Then, Oliver went over and took his turn.  There was one spot where even I could tell what they were smelling - skunk.  It was a different spot than where I caught a whiff of skunk yesterday, and it seemed to be clinging to the area instead of just wafting by on a breeze.  Everyone was interested in it, but Coco dug furiously at the snow to try to find the source of the intense odor.

The Play Pack

Oscar and Coco seem to have completely gotten over their initial discomfort with each other.  At the park today, Coco played keep-away from Oscar and Benny with a rope toy she found.  After she dropped it, Oscar snatched it up and played keep-away with Benny and Coco.  Coco even held onto the toy while Oscar chewed and tugged at it and jumped on her head.  It reminded me of how she and Benny often play.  Coco lost interest after a short while and brought a ball over to me to play fetch.  Meanwhile, Oscar kept running up to Benny with the rope toy in his mouth and then turning and running away, trying to tempt Benny into a chase.  Maverick lured his packmates over to his favorite tree stump and darted in and out and around it while Benny chased him.  When Maverick hid underneath the stump for a couple minutes, Benny started whining outside the entrance for his friend to come out and play.
