The Adventure Pack
Benny and Wesley had a good time running together on the trails today. As usual, Benny started nibbling at Wesley and trying to get him to chase him but Wesley ignored him for a while. When we reached a ridge where a light breeze made it feel much colder, Wesley seemed to get a burst of energy and then ran with his packmate. A short while later they briefly disappeared over the ridge together and I suddenly caught a whiff of skunk, but thankfully neither of them had it on them. Coco was more restless than usual when she was on leash and she saw other dogs walking toward us on the trail today. She leapt up and down frantically while making a lot of noise. I had her sit for a long while when they passed, to reinforce that she needs to stay calm, and then gave her a treat. Rucksack didn't find any sticks to carry today. He just sniffed around in the snow.
The Play Pack
Oscar and Benny had a lot of fun together at the park. Benny bowed down and rolled his head around while Oscar charged him and jumped into his face, then spun around and ran back, and then charged up again, repeatedly. Now that he's been coming out with the pack for a while, Oscar seems to be less wary of his bigger packmates looming over him. Oso was in an amorous mood today and kept going back to a Boxer and trying to get a hump in. After pulling him off several times, I took him to the other end of the park where he hung out with some other dogs briefly; but, before long, he ran back to the Boxer. After the Boxer left, he even tried to hump a little puppy who was only a bit bigger than his head. He wasn't interested in doing much else today.
