The Adventure Pack
Rucksack found a stick early on in the hike but Benny swiped it and then carried it for about half the time. After Benny lost interest, he just dropped it along the path. When I noticed he didn't have it anymore, we backtracked so Rucksack could get it. Rucksack was totally on it. He carried it all the way back to the car from there, where he finally dropped it. I let Coco and Benny have a gnaw on it for a minute before I tossed it aside and had them all hop in the car. Mogul didn't partake in any stick antics. He occupied himself with leaving occasional scent marks and kicking up dirt and dead leaves.
The Play Pack
Maverick hung out in the middle of the action today. He also followed around at my heel a lot and seemed to want me to chase him. I tried to get him and Benny to play together, but the two of them just stood next to each other. Benny was a bit timid when other dogs wanted to play with him. A playful German Shepherd mix jumped all around him but he just backed away and came over to me. He did drop into play bows and hop around with a Staffordshire Terrier mix for a little while, though. Meanwhile, Mogul lied down and just watched the other dogs. I came over to him now and then to give him a scratch and see if he was interested in pouncing on a tennis ball. The ball didn't catch his interest today but he seemed to like when I ran my hand from his head all the way down his back in long, slow strokes.
