The Adventure Pack
Benny got over his stopping habit today and I now I know how to get him to keep walking - calling his name didn't work, a tug on the leash didn't work, holding out a treat worked briefly, nudging his butt ahead kind of worked; but holding his collar directly without using the leash and drawing him forward worked like a charm! Wesley was tempted by both squirrels and ducks today, who are out to enjoy this stint of nice weather we've had. Rucksack and Coco also stiffened at the sight of a squirrel or two but were more easily distracted from them.
The Play Pack
Maverick gave a smallish Labradoodle a chase at the park today. Afterward, the Labradoodle played with Benny, who swung his head around with his mouth wide open while the pup jumped all over him and then teased him with a rope toy the way Coco likes to do with a tennis ball. Meanwhile, Coco fetched some really long throws thanks to the Chuck-it, which lets me get the ball about halfway across the park (the long way). Her focus is impressive - a lot of dogs give up if the ball is thrown too far off.
