The Adventure Pack
When Rucksack found a stick to carry on the hike, Coco and Benny were surprisingly polite and just sniffed at it without trying to take it from him. That lasted for about 10 minutes, at which point Coco tried to steal it from one side while Benny gnawed on the other end. I had them leave it to Rucksack but a while later I let them each have a turn carrying it. Even though Wesley didn't show any interest in the stick, I offered it to him for a turn. He took it happily and trotted with an extra bounce in his step as he carried it. His packmates immediately tried to steal it and the second he felt them grab it he let go and let them have it. I picked it up and gave it back to him and told his packmates they had to leave it. Benny was the most persistent, but eventually relented. A short while later, Wesley lied down to chew at it. When we continued on, he left it behind, so I picked it up and let his eager packmates have turns again.
The Play Pack
Benny played a lot with an energetic young terrier mix with a light golden coat. His playmate hopped all around him, yipping and play-bowing, trying to get Benny's interest. At first, Benny just stared at the pup. After a minute, he took a couple steps forward and then slowly dipped into a playbow. After, that, they started wrestling around and the pup kept slipping under Benny and between his legs.
