Adventure Pack

The pack hiked along at a moderate pace today.  We came across one dog who watched excitedly as the pack approached and then quickly dodged away as soon we reached him.  Later on, we met a friendly older dog.  Roger Roger was happy to make a new friend as always, and Milo and Rucksack were also feeling very social today and quickly squeezed Roger Roger out of the greeting.

Adventure Pack

Oliver took his time to sniff the trail as we hiked around the Chautauqua this morning.  Meanwhile, Benny lingered about halfway back while Rucksack and Roger Roger were hiking along at my side on their leashes.  As we crossed the park toward the car at the end of our hike, Rucksack and Roger Roger attentively watched a herd of deer who were passing through.

Benny was the one to roll around on his back today, when we came across some freshly-cut grass in the park at the base of the Chautauqua.  After Benny had his fill, Roger Roger decided it looked like fun and went for a wiggle as well.  Oliver kept clear of his flailing packmates and Rucksack was more interested in following scents around the area.

Milo and I took an easy pace along the Baseline and Bluebell trails today. We took a rest under the shade of a tree for a few minutes and watched a squirrel hop around. At first, Milo seemed only moderately interested in the squirrel, but then it caught his eye again and he leapt up to scare it up a tree.

Oliver and Benny took their time heading up the trail at the Chautauqua this morning as there were many interesting scents to smell along the way.  On the other hand, Rucksack was eager to keep forging ahead and find new smells.  Roger Roger trotted along at my side, just happy to be out with his friends.

Roger Roger got a pat on the head from a friendly passerby on this morning's walk along the creek.  Milo was more interested in sniffing bushes than in saying hello and Benny just stood in place at my side, waiting to go.

Adventure Pack

It was a little bit cooler today and the pack wasn't panting as much while we walked along Boulder Creek.  Milo pulled over to the side to leave scent marks a little less frequently today and each time he did, Benny, Rucksack, and Roger Roger were all eager to sniff around the area as well; although,  they only occasionally followed suit with their elder packmate with regards to leaving their marks.

Benny is getting used to walking with the pack again after his summer hiatus and kept pace without stopping in place for the whole walk today.  Milo, on the other hand, made a lot of stops to leave scent marks along the way.  Roger Roger got a pat on the head from a friendly guy who was walking by and stopped to compliment the pack on what beautiful dogs they all are.  Rucksack and Oliver were happy to just trot along with their packmates.

Thompson followed with the pack better than usual today, instead of pulling ahead or trying to drag me over to the Creek constantly.  He, Milo, Rucksack, and Roger Roger all enjoyed good long drinks during our water breaks.

Adventure Pack

Oliver and Benny trotted along at my left while Rucksack and Roger Roger were at my left flank as we walk the Boulder Creek Path this morning.  Everyone stayed together very well and happily greeted a couple humans along the way who wanted to pet the pack.  Roger Roger has gotten much more mature and doesn't bark and jump all over his packmates to get attention when greeting people anymore.
