Adventure Pack
Sputnik joined the pack this morning alongside Mamacita, Benny, and Milo. Mamacita and Sputnik both bot a little worked up over one passing dog and grumbled when they started to come up from behind us, but they caught themselves quickly when I gave them a little tug and were otherwise both friendly and pleasant with the rest of the dogs we saw. Milo and Benny followed us from behind for the entire hike, with Benny occassionally wandering into the bru...

Adventure Pack
Milo stayed on leash today after yesterday's excursion with his packmate Thompson. He and Mamacita both whined with excitement to greet one of the groups of passing dogs we encountered along the way, though they were less enthusiastic about others. I'm not sure what it was about that particular pack that got them worked up. Meanwhile, Benny wandered through the brush and Oliver sniffed along the edge of the trail as he lagged slightly behind the r...

Adventure Pack
Our old packmate Coco has moved back from Seattle and joined the pack for our hike at Shanahan Ridge this morning! Coco and Mamacita walked on leash together while Milo and Thompson wandered around us. Coco walked better on the leash than I remember, which was nice. I guess her time in the city has gotten her a bit more accustomed to containing her exuberance. Thompson and Milo stayed close throughout the hike until the very end when we bega...

Adventure Pack
Oliver got spooked when a jogger slipped on some ice and stutter-stepped next to him and he responded with a firm growl, to which the jogger chuckled in response and called our littlest pack member "ferocious." Benny was very excited to greet one dog that was following another jogger. He ran over with such enthusiasm that the other dog let out a nervous yelp at his approach, which caused Benny to rear back and run over to me. Milo and Mamacita wer...

Adventure Pack
Mamacita joined Benny and Milo on the trail this morning. It was surprisingly still snow-covered along the uphill/downhill stretches near the trailhead. Once we were up on the mesa, the trail was mostly dry; however we did come across a few shady patches that still had relatively undisturbed snow - a situation that Milo felt happily obliged to correct.

We headed back to CU South today as planned and it was much d...

Adventure Pack
Milo again enjoyed rolling around in the snow by the trail today. A couple times along the way, he just lied down in the snow and looked at me. Then, when I called to him, he proceeded to flop onto his side and then start squirming around. Benny, on the other hand, stuck right to my side on the trail.

I was planning to bring the pack to CU South Campus today but after seeing how muddy it was I opted to brin...

Adventure Pack
Milo, Oliver, and Benny all enjoyed the hike at SHanahan Ridge this morning. Milo had fun wiggling around in the snow again, while Benny and Oliver stuck to the trail.

Sputnik, Ruffers, and Isaac all made their way through the mud at CU South Campus this afternoon. Thankfully, Isaac resisted the urge to roll around in it. The pack happily greeted a few frien...

Adventure Pack
Milo had a couple friendly encounters with other dogs on the trail today. First, he greeted a dog who had the coat of a Border Collie but short, stubby legs and body type of a Basset Hound. They both perked up upon sniffing each other, and lingered a little while to get acquainted before parting ways. Later on, we came across Buddy, the Labradoodle we've seen a few times recently. Milo got lots of love from Buddy's guardian.

Adventure Pack
Milo had fun flopping around in the snow on our hike this morning while Benny hiked along at my side and Oliver forged on, sniffing around the trail ahead. Later on, Milo wandered pretty far off and ignored my calls for him to come back to the group as he investigated snow banks in the distance. A very excited Golden Retriever puppy ran up and then huddled over submissively to greet Benny while Oliver followed the pup and barked a few orders at him.

Adventure Pack
Benny had a sudden burst of energy about halfway through our hike this morning, and starting racing up the trail and back with a playful gait. Milo didn't take the bait, though, and kept walking along in line behind me, letting Benny wind himself down. Later on, Milo wandered over a nearby ridge. When I called, him, it took a minute for him to come, but when he did he came bounding through the snow. I think he had been wiggling around on his...
