Sputnik and Rucksack raced in circles through the creek, around a bridge that passes over it.  Sputnik ran in the lead with Rucksack yipping at his heels.  Eventually, Rucksack figured out he could take a shortcut over the bridge to catch up and surprise Sputnik on the other side.  After being intercepted a few times, Sputnik changed his course and ran off further down the creek to draw Rucksack away from the bridge.  Oliver and Benny watched wi...

Rucksack and Benny had the first turn to enjoy the creek at Settler's Park today and then Coco and Milo had the second turn.  Benny's mellow energy brought Rucksack's energy level down, while Coco's enthusiasm brought out Milo's playful side.  Benny and Rucksack trotted through the water and sniffed around; Coco and Milo splashed through the water as they ran back and forth.

Rucksack, Milo, and Coco all enjoyed racing through the creek in different pairings today while Benny waded along the bank, sniffing and nibbling at foliage.  As we continued along the trails, Coco led the way while Benny followed behind the rest of us.  On our way down, Rucksack took point while Milo took up the rear.

Sputnik was a bit over-eager to get going today, both when I first picked him up and when we first hit the trails.  He practiced patience as Rucksack and Oliver enjoyed the stream off leash while he and Benny had to stay calm.  Oliver hung out with Benny and Sputnik, not venturing much past the edge of the water but Rucksack splashed around and had a good time.  Later on, when Sputnik and Benny had their turn off leash, Sputnik discovered a tennis ba...

Milo and Osito had the first turn to play in the creek but they just mosied around in the water, sniffing at the plants along the bank.  Coco and Rucksack ran and ran when they had their turn and then Milo and Osito both looked on anxiously as their packmates splashed through the water and showed them how to have fun.  Next time, I'll pair them off differently and see if everyone gets a good romp that way.

Rucksack and Sputnik again had a blast chasing each other up and down the creek.  Benny and Oliver wre much more mellow during their time off-leash and just trotted along behind me and their packmates.

Coco made great use of the kiddie pool provided by Kate (Keeyush's mom) to cool off in between sessions of fetch.  I threw some balls for Oscar, as well, but he was more interested in socializing than fetching today....

Everyone waded through the stream on our way up the trail again today.  Milo, Rucksack, Coco and Benny were all pulling around today and all seemed to be on different pages, so we stayed on leash throughout the hike.  We passed a few friendly dogs and after the pack tried pulling me over to the first one we came by, we practiced staying calm and waiting to greet until the other dog got to us.

Coco was the only one who ran around through the creek on our way up the trail today.  Howver, on the way back down Milo chased a deer down the hill to another point along the same stream and then proceeded to indulge some splashing around of his own for about 10 minutes after the deer took off.  Rucksack either didn't notice the deer or is becoming tamer, because he stayed right on the trail with me and his other packmates.  Benny actually walked ah...

Rucksack really likes to chase Sputnik, and Sputnik really enjoys being chased.  They made so many laps around the bridge that runs over the stream we pass that I lost count.  Coco really knows how to cool off in a body of water.  She starts to lie down just until her whole belly has been submerged and then she pops back up to let the cool water evaporate off of her.  Benny was taking his time on the hike.  He rarely comes to a complete sto...

Osito and Milo had the first turn off leash on our hike up the Anemone trail.  When we stopped at the creek, they both waded around in the water fairly calmly while Coco and Rucksack seemed eager to play more.  So I switched them off the leashes and Coco and Rucksack made the most of thier romp in the water while Osito and Milo continued to hang out.  Osito made a few stubborn stops along the way when we passed under the occasional shady tree.  ...
