Adventure Pack
Milo and Benny made friends with many passers-by as they sauntered along off-leash behind the pack today. Rucksack practiced walking at my side since he's been pulling ahead more lately. Roger Roger had fun jumping on Benny when we took a short break and then tried to continue jumping on him when we started walking again. Mamacita stayed at my side and trotted along quietly as usual. Even though she's had water from the CamelBak spout a few ...

Adventure Pack
We had a few encounters today with hyper-excited dogs on the trails. The first one was off leash and ran right up into the middle of the pack and started jumping around. Oliver, Sputnik, and Roger Roger all barked and growled their disapproval while Rucksack and Benny just got a sniff. Later on, a couple other dogs pulled on their leashes right up to the pack; and then, on our last leg a passing dog started barking at us. After that first en...

Adventure Pack
Roger Roger grabbed up a stick the instant we got onto the trail today. He only carried it for a minute, however, before dropping it to leave behind. Rucksack saw the opportunity and went for it but when Roger Roger realized his big brother wanted it he quickly snatched it back up. As soon as Rucksack turned away, he dropped it and was going to leave it behind again; so I brought Rucksack over to it and blocked Roger Roger from stealing it back ag...

Adventure Pack
Nobody bothered with any sticks today, not even Rucksack. Roger Roger and Sputnik got worked up over a group of passing dogs but settled down pretty quickly. Unlucky Oliver got snow-bombed by a plop of melting snow that slid off of a tree branch, and then a second time a minute later. Benny stayed right behind me for the duration of the hike, and managed to stay untouched by the falling snow.
Play Pack
We had a new p...

Adventure Pack
Roger Roger unleashed his puppy energy on his brother Rucksack when the two of them went off leash in the snow together. Later on in the hike, Benny became his target of interest for ear-nibbles and neck-mouthing. Mamacita and Milo avoided the action and walked quietly together at my other side.
Play Pack
Everyone was playful at the park today! Benny and Milo had a wrestle; Mamacita and Benny chased and jumped and do...

Adventure Pack
Rucksack practiced turning his attention back to me a lot on the trails today, as he was especially excited about passers-by and was pulling ahead quite a bit. Roger Roger was also in a more exciteable mood and barked at a couple of the dogs we passed by. Benny, Mamacita, and Milo all stayed very calm throughout the hike. We passed a dog who looked just like Milo but was only a few years old. His coat had a slightly more orange hue than Milo...

Adventure Pack
We met several different people on the trails today who asked if they could say hello to the pack. Everyone was very friendly, with Rucksack at the forefront of every greeting. After a few moments, Roger Roger and Sputnik inevitably took the break in our hike as an opportunity to wrestle, so we got a lot of practice in impulse-management as I had them both settle down and sit with each other calmly. Roger Roger had the hardest time keeping still a...

Adventure Pack
Thompson was very eager to explore the trails today and it took some effort to keep him with the group. Meanwhile, Mamacita and Milo walked very nicely behind me the whole time. Roger Roger was in a rambunctious mood and harassed Rucksack with ear- and elbow-nibbles.
Play Pack
Milo and Benny took shelter with me when it started to rain at the park, but Isaac couldn't sit still and went right back out to find a ball to fetc...

Adventure Pack
Oliver had a little trouble keeping up on the trails today, though he's usually at the front of the pack. He's often not interested in drinking water from the CamelBak, especially early on in the hike, but today he was eager to lap it up on our first water break. Early on, we passed two excited dogs who pulled on their leashes toward us as we passed by. It was a big challenge for Sputnik, who has been reactive to situations like that, and he did a...

Adventure Pack
We had a nice hike today with a few stops to allow other hikers to fawn over the pack. Rucksack ate up the attention, while Roger Roger, Milo, Benny, and Mama also enjoyed some pats and scratches. Roger Roger took the breaks as opportunities to jump on Mamacita, who play-bowed and/or grumbled in response at different times. Benny and Rucksack wandered off the trail in the same spot where Benny and Milo did last week, but I was quicker to react and...
