The Adventure Pack

Sage and Wesley both started off today's hike by burying themselves in snow.  They lied down side by side in the deepest snow they could find and then dug forward and stuck their heads under the snow.  Coco leapt around her packmates, eager to be part of their antics.  Rucksack didn't partake, but he and Sage ran together in the snow later on.

Sputnik, Benny, and Rucksack all had a great time with one another along the snowy trails today.  Each pair got a turn to play off leash with each other and they took full advantage of it with chasing, keep-away, snow-chomping and some good ol' romping.

Everyone walked together very well today.  Coco and Rucksack, who both tend to try to pull ahead a lot of the time, stayed comfortably at my side on loose leashes.  Benny spent the majority of the hike trotting along next to Rucksack and only stopped in place a few times on the way back.  Osito is really falling into line with his packmates.  He still gets a bit worked up when we see another dog on the trails but he's gradually becoming much...

Wesley took up the rear for the length of today's hike - I think the new heat of the season was getting to him.  Rucksack found one good stick to carry most of the way.  Coco was a bit standoffish with other dogs we passed, quietly grumbling under her breath as we went by.  Benny again turned to his habit of stopping in place while walking on leash today.  It might also be the warmer weather that was getting to him.  We'll see how thing...

Sputnik followed Benny around the trails today, occasionally jumping playfully at him and trying to start chase or a wreslte.  Benny tolerated his puppy packmate and sometimes wrestled around with him a bit.  Rucksack tried out a few different sticks for hauling along the trail today.  We came across several other dogs today and Oliver ran straight up to one of them and barked a few times.  The other dog didn't react and Oliver settled down ...

Sage and Wesley stuck close by while they were off leash on the Flatiron Loop today.  They lingered at some spots to get a thorough sniff and then jogged side-by-side to catch up with the rest of us.  Coco and Rucksack were feeling more rambunctious and chased each other around later on in the hike.

Osito has been doing a bit better at sitting when he's asked, though we still have some work to do on his focus and attention before he'll be romping off-leash on the trails.  Coco rolled around in the grass at one point and then leaped around when Osito and Benny came and hovered over her to see what she was up to.  Benny was a little slow on the trails today.

Wesley and Rucksack both had a fun time rolling around in the snow that's still left by the trails.  Rucksack was the first to discover a choice spot and after he got up Wesley soon followed suit.  Coco didn't wiggle around in the snow but she was eager to go sniff the area that her packmates had found so enticing.
