Adventure Pack
Milo and Oso enjoyed exploring the trails off-leash together today, and both did a great job of sticking with the group. Rucksack found a small stick to carry today. Roger Roger tried to take it but there wasn't much sticking out for him to get a hold on and Rucksack just stood like a statue until his little brother gave up. A short while later, though, Rucksack dropped the stick and Roger Roger was quick to snag it. Then Rucksack was the on...

Adventure Pack
Oliver started off the hike tentatively at the back of the pack, trying to stay out of his packmates' way, but with some encouragement he took up a position next to his brother Benny and eventually seemed more comfortable. Rucksack found a stick early on in the hike and Sputnik occasionally gnawed on the end of it. When Sputnik started tugging at it to try to steal it away I told him to leave it to his packmate and he listened very well. Roger Rog...

Adventure Pack
The pack was a pretty good unit on the trails today even over the rocky, irregular terrain of the Flatiron Loop. Rucksack and Roger Roger were on either flank with Benny and Mamacita behind them. Milo took up the rear, directly behind me. We got a lot of comments today about how well-behaved everyone was.

Sadie was the spark that got both Mamacita and Sputnik fired up at the park today. The three of t...

Adventure Pack
Milo was very interested in stopping to mark spots frequently along the trail today. When we got to the beginning of the Mesa Trail, where Milo and Thompson had wandered down into the canyon Wednesday, Milo and Mamacita both perked up. They looked down on the canyon with excitement on their faces, remembering Wednesday's exploits and both expecting the chance to take off on their own, which was all the more reason to keep them with me on the leash.

Oliver charged up to another dog on the trail today and got told off by the other dog for his lack of manners. Meanwhile, Benny mosied over and sniffed the other dog calmly. Sputnik started growling at the other dog from his place on-leash at my side, in an apparent attempt to stand up for his misbehaving packmate. Thankfully, Roger Roger stayed cool so it wasn't difficult to address Sputnik.

Adventure Pack
Milo and Thompson enjoyed ignoring me as they wandered down to the creek in the canyon by the beginning of the Mesa Trail. They sniffed and splashed around together for a while until they finally decided to come back up to the trail with me, Roger Roger, and Mamacita. They went back on their leashes for the remainder of the hike after that. Roger Roger, Mamacita, and Thompson all got pet by a friendly human who asked if she could greet the pack....

Adventure Pack
We passed by a lot of dogs and people on the trails today. A few of the dogs were pulling at thier leashes to come over to us, to which Sputnik didn't respond very well as he growled in a very intimidating way. When other dogs passed by without zeroing in on us, however, Sputnik had no problems. Benny got playful with a couple of the dogs we passed and ran with them, while Oliver barked at them to make sure they took note of him, as well.

Adventure Pack
Benny and Milo both enjoyed chomping on snow while keeping pace with the pack as we made our way up the Mesa Trail. Back in the car, they gnawed on one another's faces. Roger Roger started off in a very playful mood and hopped all over Benny and nibbled on his ears. Benny took the puppy attention in stride. Rucksack opted not to haul any sticks today. Mamacita was still wary of the Camelbak spout, but she'll get accustomed to it eventu...

Adventure Pack
Rucksack tried out a small array of different sticks and odd chunks of wood on the trails today. Milo enjoyed getting his feet wet in the stream we passed over on our way up the Mesa Trail, and then again on our way back down. Further up the trail, Milo started munching on some snow that was still left on a shady hillside and he was joined by Benny, Mamacita, and Roger Roger. Meanwhile, Rucksack was shouldering down into the snow and sliding...

Roger Roger and Sputnik found an old tennis ball on the side of the trail and enjoyed stealing it back and forth from one another. Meanwhile, Benny and Oliver were greeting the many dogs and people we passed. Roger Roger and Sputnik said hello to most of the other dogs, as well.
