Adventure Pack

Milo and Benny enjoyed mouthing each others snouts back and forth on our way to the trails today.  Rucksack struggled with walking at a heel when we first set out but after some diligent practice he was following along just behind me.  It helped that Roger Roger and Mamacita, who flanked him on either side, tend to walk right at my side without any problem; so they passively helped to keep Rucksack corralled between them.

Roger Roger was exuberant about going off the leash and let out all his energy on Benny, who responded with some wrestling around.  Rucksack carried a nice stick along with us for most of the hike.  At one point, Sputnik, Benny, and Roger Roger were all chewing on the stick while Rucksack held it.  Oliver kept hemself busy by sniffing along the side of the trail and leaving plenty of scent marks as we went.

Roger Roger was bursting with energy today and kept his old packmate Milo on his toes.  They ran together through the brush and mud and had a great time.  When Roger Roger passed by close to us, Mamacita would leap out at him and send him off.  Roger Roger also met a dog from another group with whom he really got along, and the two of them did a good job of tiring each other out.

We started off today's hike alongside a Yorkipoo named Gidget to whom Oliver quickly took a liking.  Eventually, we outpaced Oliver's new friend as we made our way along the trail.  Rucksack and Roger Roger passed a stick back and forth between them a few times.  Roger Roger also had fun harassing Benny when they were off leash together.  When Benny had enough he just walked on, inadvertently tumbling a surprised Roger Roger over in the process....

Mamacita contained herself in the car and didn't bark at any bikers or people in cars next to us today, though she eyed them warily.  When we got to the trails, Milo and Benny happily explored off leash together - lingering behind to sniff around and then running to catch up with big smiles on their faces.  Roger Roger harassed his brother Rucksack when they took their turn off leash together, although he was pretty attentive when I called him off to give...

Milo chomped on snow from the patches that are still scattered around from Wednesday's snowfall. Roger Roger had the self-control to walk over to the side to relieve himself today instead of just pooping in the middle of the path after a sudden stop.  Rucksack, Mamacita, and Benny all trotted along in their places comfortably.

Rucksack did a good job walking along with the pack instead of pulling ahead today, even though I let him walk on the outside in the lead position at my left.  Benny, on the other hand, took a lot of convincing to keep up at the beginning of the hike again today.  Mamacita and Roger Roger kept right in pace throughout.

Milo was excited to romp through the snow and he scooped it up into his mouth as he went.  Mamacita, Rucksack, and Roger Roger were a bit more tame as we walked.  Rucksack and Roger Roger's recent trip to the groomers was well-timed, as their legs didn't collect snowballs from the fresh snowfall the way they usually do.

Rucksack yielded the lead position at my right side to his little packmate Oliver.  Roger Roger got a little riled up over a passing dog and let out one bark, but then quickly settled down.  Benny tried stopping in place a lot at the beginning of the walk but once we got going he kept up.

Isaac had tons of energy at the beginning of today's outing and was running everywhere.  Milo and Mamacita both got riled up and dropped into play-bows in response as Isaac ran by them.  Rucksack, Roger Roger, and Benny were less impressed by Isaac's display and just trotted along.
