Adventure Pack

Rucksack, Milo, and Coco kept jockying around for position as we walked today and each time they switched I stopped and had them move back into their original positions.  After the first couple corrections, they got the idea and turned around and headed back to their place when I stopped with less and less guidance as to where to go.  Rucksack quietly carried a small stick that went unnoticed by his packmates for most of the walk until Roger Roger caught ...

Adventure Pack

Coco had a cute outfit of an angel-wing sweater and booties.  Her demeanor was especially reserved today, so I think she may have been feeling a bit embarassed about her get-up.  Rucksack was very interested in Milo's neck again today and spent much of the latter half of the walk nosing and mouthing at his packmate, leaving the back of Milo's neck saturated with drool.  Benny and Roger Roger trotted alongside one another today.  Benny ate up som...

Adventure Pack

Sputnik and Roger Roger wrestled around with one another in back of the packmobile, but they were both lying down and keeping things tame.  With the snow mostly melted, the pack was especially interested in the scents that were revealed by dirt that had been upturned by the small plows that clear the walking paths.  Oliver, Benny, Sputnik, Rucksack, and Roger Roger all spent a good chunk of time with their noses down at the side of the path.

Adventure Pack

Today was one of the most calm and orderly walks that the pack has ever had.  Milo, Coco, Osito, Rucksack, and Roger Roger were all just in the mood to walk so that's what we did, and everyone was pretty much on the same page.

Play Pack

Thompson crawled under the tree stump again today and then Sputnik stood at the entrance and waited for his packmate to come back out.  When Thompson reappeared, Sputnik jumped all over him a...

Adventure Pack

Sputnik and Roger Roger were playful with one another today and enjoyed jumping on each other in turns.  Rucksack and Roger Roger gathered only a moderate number of snowballs in their coats.  Oliver's sweater also gathered some snowballs so I took it off of him once we returned to the car and they started melting and soaking it, but it kept him warm while we were out.  Benny got cold paws at one point hand started holding up one paw so I picked the p...

Adventure Pack

Benny was excited to lavish Coco and Milo with licks and nibbles on their faces when he joined them in the packmobile.  Coco and Milo both responded with groans that seemed to be a mix of satisfaction and irritation, and they also both mouthed Benny's face.  Benny and Milo continued their attentions with one another as we hit the Bear Creek Path.  Roger Roger and Rucksack avoided Benny's affections and trotted along without grabbing up any sticks tod...

Adventure Pack

Rucksack was very interesed in Milo today and repeatedly nibbled and/or licked at the fur on the back of Milo's neck, leaving Milo with an interesting hairdo.  Coco was a bit on guard when we passed other dogs.  She never barked or lunged but she stiffened up and watched very closely on a couple occasions when other dogs passed.  It seemed to only be when the other dogs were themselves pulling at their leashes and/or barking at us, as she let a coupl...

Adventure Pack

Roger Roger found a pine branch, needles and all, to carry for the beginning of our outing.  He lost interest in it quickly, though, and none of his packmates picked up the slack.  Oftentimes the cold and snow bring out the most playful sides of pups, but Rucksack, Sputnik, Benny, Roger Roger, and Isaac were all very calm and orderly on today's walk.  There was little pulling and nobody even chomped on the snow as we made our way - not even Benny!

Adventure Pack

Coco and Roger Roger negotiated stick priveleges with a small one they found early on.  Their negotiations resulted in a pile of broken twigs that was promptly left behind.  Rucksack and Osito trotted along side-by-side with one another without any jockying.  Milo weaved his way between walking on the far side of Coco, to slipping in between Coco and Roger Roger, to sidling up to me, and back again.  He was more resistant to the drinking spout t...

Adventure Pack

Sputnik and Roger Roger surprisingly didn't try wrestling with one another for almost the entire outing today - though they did go at it on the last stretch about 5 minutes from the car.  Once in the car, they lied down facing each other and gnawed on one another's faces while groaning with puppy enthusiasm.  Benny, Oliver, and Rucksack let the young ones have their fun and stayed out of it.
