Adventure Pack
Today, it was Roger Roger who first found a good stick to carry and Rucksack kept trying to steal it away from his younger brother. I had Rucksack leave it for a while but Roger Roger lost interest in it about halfway through the hike and then I let Rucksack grab it. Of course, this instantly rekindled Roger Roger's interest in the stick, so it was his turn to practice sharing and taking turns while Rucksack enjoyed himself. Meanwhile, Benny and O...

Adventure Pack
While Rucksack, Roger Roger, Benny, Milo and I were just reaching the beginning of the off-leash trail, I saw a fox cross about 20 yards ahead of us. The pack were all distracted sniffing around and peeing on things, but as we continued to walk they all suddenly caught the scent and started looking all around. I kept them all on leash so as not to lose anyone to a hunting chase.

It has been a busy week preparing for the Thanksgiving holiday! We have a full house of 8 pack members staying with us and everyone has gotten along together well. Sanaya and Fritz are adjusting to being away from home, and are getting more and more comfortable. Mamacita, who has spent a lot of time over here and who already knows both Sanaya and Fritz from pack outings, has been a great amabassador to our new additions. Sanaya and Fritz have spent a lot of their time ...

Adventure Pack
Milo and Benny greeted several dogs during our hike today. The first we came across was a Golden Retriever who came up from behind us and spooked Benny, who leaped up and gave a grumble when he noticed we had company. Later on, we came across an Australian Shepherd who had Milo whining with excitement to say hello as we approached. Then, we was an exceptionally tall yellow Lab, whose frame looked a lot like Benny's.

Adventure Pack
Roger Roger found a stick about halfway through our hike today and I think it may have been the same one he dropped yesterday. He didn't hold onto it for long, but a short while later he found another stick that he carried all the way back to the car with him. Rucksack wasn't interested in stick-hauling today. A hiker asked early on if Oliver can keep up on the trail with the big dogs. I told her that he is usually leading the pack by the en...

Adventure Pack
Milo was happy to see his pack today and had an extra bounce in his step as we headed up the trail. Rucksack found a nice, gnarly branch but lost track of it when he and Thompson wandered far off into the brush. When they headed back to the trail, they found a patch of snow and both had some fun wiggling around in it. Later on, Roger Roger found a small chunk of wood to carry. Rucksack followed suit and found his own small piece of wood, and...

Adventure Pack
Rucksack sat today's hike out due to a slight limp he had when I stopped in to pick up him and Roger Roger. Roger Roger, Benny, and Oliver took to the trails together and we had a very pleasant hike on another beautiful day. Benny stopped by various hikers along the way to say hello and get a pat before continuing on. Oliver received encouragement from passers-by who told him, "You can do it! as he made his way up the mountain. He got a big ...

Adventure Pack
The whole pack swarmed a couple friendly hikers who stopped and asked to say hello. I was impressed by how long Roger Roger contained his urge to jump, but he eventually hopped up in his packmate Benny's face to make sure he wasn't left out of getting attention, and then he started chewing on Benny's ears as he loves to do. Rather than climb over their packmate, Milo and Rucksack each decided to sidle up between Benny and the hikers and then lean in for...

Adventure Pack
Rucksack found a small chunk of a stick to carry along with us on the trails today. After he lost interest, Roger Roger was happy to take it up and chew on it while we hiked. Eventually, Roger Roger dropped it and Rucksack scooped it back up and carried it for most of the remainder of our hike. Meanwhile, Benny and Milo trotted along behind us and gave friendly greetings to passers-by.

Adventure Pack
Rucksack was obsessed with Oliver today. He kept a close eye on his little packmate and kept sniffing him all over and grooming him. Oliver didn't object to the attention. Meanwhile, Benny had a playful streak and started bounding back and forth just ahead of us on the trail. This got Roger Roger worked up and he tried to tackle Benny, but Benny barely even noticed the weight of Roger Roger against him. He was more cognizant of his ear...
